What's Happening in Orlando in April

Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando

Through April 4th

Mardi Gras may have come and gone in New Orleans, but that doesn’t mean the celebration has to stop. You can still carnival in Universal up through the first few days of April. With custom made floats, unique to the celebration, epic concerts and more, you’ll feel like you’re down in NOLA! The parade runs every evening and even includes the chance to catch the beads thrown from the floats.

There are exclusive dining options available during the season. You can get a Bayou Boil with a special dinner package. Or you can choose a dessert option that includes exclusive viewing for both the parade and the nightly viewing of Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration.

So laissez les bon temps rouler!

The Epcot International Flower and Garden Show

The Epcot Easter Egg Hunt

April 1st

In addition to the flower and garden show, Epcot has another special event running right up through April 1st (so you better hurry). When you enter the park you can purchase a character egg scavenger hunt map before heading out into the park to find the eggs on your list. It’s like the Easter egg hunts you went on as a child, except the eggs are decorated with your favorite characters, and you don’t get to keep them. But if you find them all, you can get a prize at the end of the event!

The Easter Egg Displays in WDW

Another spring tradition at Walt Disney World is the Easter Egg displays. Every year the Walt Disney World pastry chefs break out their best decorating skills and create brilliantly crafted chocolate and fondant eggs. These eggs are displayed in the Resort Hotels across Walt Disney World. As we mentioned at Christmas, you can visit these spectacular displays regardless of whether or not you’re staying in a Walt Disney Hotel. So even if you and your family decide to stay in one of our luxurious vacation homes, you can still take a day to find all the eggs on display this year!

The Seven Seas Food Festival

Every weekend from mid-February through May you can head over to Sea World for a fantastic culinary event. A fleet of food trucks and booths from around the world has opened in the park. You can find new flavors, enjoy local craft beers and on Saturdays and Sundays there’s even live music! Bon Apatite.

These are some of the extra experiences you can find in Orlando this march. And even when you don’t need the extra incentive to take a trip, its nice to know that the parks have gone the extra mile to bring a little more magic to your next Orlando vacation! Hope to see you real soon.
