Its that time of year again, where we sit back and reflect on all the things that we’re thankful for before heading into the full splendor of the holiday season. Here at the Homes4uu blog, we wanted to take a few moments to sit back and reflect on a few of our favorite Disney things. And be sure to scroll to the bottom for the full list (in lyric form) of our favorite Orlando things.

Dole Whips, and Churros and Mickey Shaped Ice Cream

Ok, let’s face it, there are few things better than being able to sit back and relax with your favorite Disney snack. Especially if you happen to be in the parks while you’re enjoying that Dole Whip (or citrus swirl). And while you can get Churros and Mickey Bars outside of Walt Disney World (and the rest of the Disney parks) they just taste that much more magical when you can eat them in Orlando.

Waterslides and Water Rides and the Need for Sunscreen

I’m a native northerner and let me tell you, when the weather gets cold and the days get short, you spend a lot of time reminiscing about being able to jump into a pool. Now I know it can get pretty cold in Florida in the wintertime. But I’ve been in a pool in Orlando on Christmas Eve and it was wonderful.  And we can always appreciate the wonderful Florida sunshine, cant we!

And all of the venues found at Disney Springs

I love walking around Disney Springs, don’t you? There is something fantastic about live music, and exciting venues. I love that I can bowl in Splitsville after a day of shopping or even cruising around the lake on one of the Amphibicars.

World showcase dining and riding on Soarin’,

Epcot as a whole may be undergoing major changes. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t still enjoy a trip to the park. Fall and Winter are especially wonderful times to visit since both the International Food and Wine Festival and the Festival of the Holidays will be on.

There really isn’t a better place to get a bit to eat in all of Walt Disney World. You have multiple venues in each of the pavilions and the theming is always on point.

And some of your favorite rides are still open during construction, so you can still catch a ride on Soarin’ after your meal!

Toy Story, Star Wars, hey let’s go explorin’!

One of the biggest changes we’ve seen recently is to Hollywood Studios and they are fantastic. You can now shrink down to the size of a toy before heading to a Galaxy Far Far Away with both Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge. We’re thankful for the chance to explore both of these fantastical environments and the level of detail that went into crafting these lands.

The way that the fireworks make the skies sing Is definitely a favorite Orlando thing!

I love that Disney chose to cap off a day in the park with a firework show, whether it is Happily Ever After in Magic Kingdom, Fantasmic in Hollywood Studios of with the new show in Epcot. It’s just the right splash of magic to bring an adventure to a close.

Dinos and Wizzards and a brand-new attraction

Disney isn’t the only place that we love here at Homes4uu. Universal Orlando has its share of thrills that take you into your favorite movies. You can ride through Jurassic park, now with even more dinosaurs added in from Jurassic World.  And both parks in Universal Orlando feature the Wizzarding World of Harry Potter. Which is where you’ll find the latest ride in Universal Orlando. Hagrid’s Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure.

This ride is roller-coaster ride through the Forbidden Forest as Hagrid takes you to find all sorts of Magical creatures on an enchanted motorbike (or sidecar). The ride is a departure from the more screen heavy attractions that have been popping up in the parks, and has been a pretty instant hit!

Rides that take you right into the action.

But those aren’t the only spectacular attraction in Universal Orlando that we love. You can head into the world of the Simpsons, Dispicable Me, Dr Suess and so much more.

Immersive Theming and the joy that it brings

This is something that Disney is known for and Universal Orlando has grown into in the last decade. It’s the kind of theming that lets you travel to Diagon Alley through the train station or makes you feel like you’ve really been shrunk down to the size of a toy. Its what makes Galaxy’s Edge feel like it’s a world away while Main Street USA feels like it could be the center of any turn of the century town in the US. From the background music to the uniforms, to the very way the bathrooms are painted, every inch of these areas was crafted to transport you to another time, or place. And it’s definitely something we here at Homes4uu love!

Sea World has Dolphins and we can’t forget iCann

But Orlando has, even more, to offer beyond the gates of Universal and Walt Disney World. You can head over to SeaWorld and see the Dolphins or bring the little ones to see Sesame Street. There’s Legoland and Gatorland and all sorts of smaller adventures you can have along the way. Or you can head to iDrive to ride on the ICANN, or the Starflyer and get the highest views Orlando has to offer! There is so much to do in Orlando that you’ll have to come back, again and again, to even have a hope of seeing it all!

And it’s only an hour away from the shore,

And if you want to head to the beach for a day, you don’t have to worry. Orlando is only a short drive from either of Florida’s fabled coasts. So you’ll really be getting the best of both worlds!

So these are a few of the things we love about Orlando. What are your favorite Orlando things?
