Getting Ready for Fall in Walt Disney World
Getting Ready for Fall in Walt Disney World

Summer is still in full swing at Walt Disney World during the month of August. But if you look carefully you’ll notice fall starting to creep in slowly! So here’s everything you need to know to get ready for fall in Walt Disney World!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Here at the Homes4uu blog, we’ve written about the party before. Both as a general guide and also a guide to what you can wear to the party, so if you want to know more about what you can check out those posts. But there are a couple of new additions this time around. First of all the party starts in the middle of the month of August and runs all the way up to October 31st (Check out our monthly guide to get more specific dates!).

New to Boo To You

And Disney announced that the Boo To You Parade was getting a new float to represent Tomorrow Land in the parade. Now you’ll see Buzz Lightyear and the Green Aliens in an eerie alien landscape. And you’ll also find Mr. Incredible, Elastagirl and Edna Mode and the return of the Super Mobiles. And if you pay close attention to the Haunted Mansion Float (Representing Liberty Square) you’ll see a new addition among the dancers: the spectral bride. Keep an extra close eye on your friends and family with this spectral spook in attendance! The parade runs twice a month on party nights and most comments say that the second showing has better viewing options than the first. So use the first parade time to hunt down some rare photo opportunities, or to get some candy from around the park.

A Kingdom Transformed

And if you’re staying towards the end of the month, get ready for one of the Magic Kingdom’s most drastic makeovers of the year. Seemingly overnight the park will be transformed into an autumn kingdom fit for any Pumpkin King. Each lamppost will be decorated with an autumn wreath and smiling Mickey pumpkin lantern. The banners on Main Street go from the traditional red white and blue of the summer to orange, yellow and red. And all around the park, you’ll find fun jack-o-lanterns, scarecrows and more fall decorations so keep an eye out!

Epcot and Fine Dining

Epcot also gets a fall styled makeover during the months of August and September as the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival kicks off on the 29th of August. But before then make sure you catch IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, as the show is shutting down on September 30th. And Epcot Forever is launching on October 1st of this year. Epcot Forever is a celebration of everything that Epcot has been and will be. It will highlight beloved rides and pavilions as well as the nations around the lagoon. It will feature fireworks, fire, lasers, and…kites. We’ll keep an eye out for any more news about this spectacular new show. But in the meantime, enjoy the last days of IllumiNations.

Batuu: The Highlight This Fall in Walt Disney World

And of course, we can’t forget the star of the season: Galaxy’s Edge. This new land is opening on August 29th! I won’t make any crowd predictions here, though, since Disneyland’s version was less crowded than initially anticipated. That was partially because they blacked out the summer for most pass holders and part of the summer for cast members. But the crowds in Walt Disney World may either reach capacity or the thought of crowds may scare guests away. We’ve got more information on Batuu coming your way soon!

So that’s the first look at everything that’s happening this Fall in Walt Disney World! Stay tuned for more as we head into the season.
