Why Visit Orlando in November
Why Visit Orlando in November

Its nearly November, and that means that the Holiday Season is getting ready to start in Orlando. So get ready for holiday parties, Thanksgiving dinners, festivals and more. Here’s what you can expect if you’re visiting Orlando in November!

Fun Times and Fair Weather

While Orlando can be a wonderful place to visit all year round, there are certain times of the year that make for a more pleasant visit. November in Orlando has days in the seventies, nights in the fifties and only three days of rain on average. That means lower humidity and fewer chances of getting rained out during your days. You’ll also find that you’ll have more daylight hours than you may be used to further north. Florida is closer to the equator, so it doesn’t experience the same drastic shift in the length of days and nights as you’d get in the rest of the country.

Lower CrowdsCastle

With the exception of Thanksgiving Week, which can be incredibly crowded, November is actually considered low season for the area. This makes a lot of sense if you think of it. Most folks would try to crowd any days off around the actual holiday so you won’t get as many planned vacations in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. And if you can head to the parks the week after the holiday, you may find the crowds at one of the lowest attendance levels of the whole year! Keep in mind that Orlando is one of the most visited spots in the world, so low season can be relative. But you’ll have a much easier time navigating the parks in November than you would in the week leading up to Christmas, or on Spring Break.

International FestivalsMonorail Flowershow

November is unique in that it sees not one but two of Epcot’s famous festivals. The International Food and Wine festival runs all the way through to the second week of November. And less than a week later the International Festival of the Holidays starts. So with a week you could be enjoying all the scrumptious international food treats at Food and Wine and enjoying fan favorites like the Candle Light Processional.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

The Disney Holiday parties have become a famous attraction in their own right. And Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is no exception. The party includes a special holiday parade, holiday treats and so much more. You can also see a special holiday version of the fan favorite Wishes.

Disney Holiday Special Taping

Every year Disney starts taping their holiday special in November. In 2018 the dates are from the 7th to the 11th. Portions are taped during the Holiday party while others are during the regularly ticketed day. So if you are in the parks in the first half of the month you may find yourself featuring in the holiday specials.

And if you want to catch the tail end of the Halloween season, then you can even head over to Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Nights. It only runs for the first week but if you aren’t quite ready for Christmas yet, then you can head over and get scared.

There are dozens of options for celebrating Thanksgiving day in Orlando. Every park, every neighborhood, and every resort has at least one venue offering a full Thanksgiving meal. My personal favorite is the meal at the Liberty Tree Tavern. But other options include the Reunion Resort, the Edison in Disney Springs and more. As long as you have your family with you then any Thanksgiving meal is a perfect one.turkey

These are just a few of the happenings in Orlando during the month of November. We hope to see uu here soon!
