Its that time of year again folks! Time for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. So sit back while the Homes4uu blog brings you the ins and outs of this special event!

Step Right Up Folks, Get Your Tickets!

Ah, but not just any tickets, MNSSHP (that’s the go to short hand for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party) requires a separate event ticket not included in your typical magic your way ticket package. However your entry ticket to the party will get you into the park gates at around 4:00 while the park is still open to regular guests. With the event running from 7:00 PM to Midnight, that’s 8 hours of Magic Kingdom goodness for you and your family to savor! So no need to worry about using up one of your ticketed days and having to pay for an event ticket on top of it! My suggestion is that if you are going to the party, plan to spend your morning doing something that doesn’t require a park ticket at all. Go to Disney Springs for the morning, or book a trip to one of the many spas the resort has to offer, many of which are on the monorail loop meaning you’re right next store to the Magic Kingdom. You could also book a round of golf, or mini-golf on one of the many courses WDW has to offer. Now back to the tickets for the party. You are going to want to book these in advance, in fact, you are going to want to book these tickets as soon as you know your travel dates since the party always books up fast. Tickets start at $74 an adult, but weekend dates and dates closer to Halloween itself will cost you more! Also, keep in mind that if you don’t have a ticket you will not be able to stay in the Magic Kingdom park on event days past 7:00 PM!

Happy Hallowishes Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party

It’s A Bird! It’s A Plane! It’s….Super Guest?

One of the best parts of this event is that for a few days out of the year everyone who comes to the Magic Kingdom can dress up like their favorite characters. On a typical day there are very strict guidelines as to who can and cannot dress up at the parks. The general rule of thumb is that if you are 14 years old and over, the closest you’re allowed to get to looking like your favorite character is that clever Disney bounding outfit you picked out for the trip. Little ones under that age cut off can not only dress to look like their favorite characters, they can even have the experience of being transformed into a pirate, princess or even a Jedi through certain venues like the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutique! But have no fear disneyfans of the grown-up sort, during MNSSHP everyone can dress like any character they want to. There are some rules that still need to be followed though. No outfit can cover a persons feet, no masks can cover a full face (child) and in the case of adults masks aren’t allowed at all. Wings must be under a certain size and weapons (other than lightsabers and a few other rare exceptions) are not permitted. I’d recommend checking out the website for the full and complete set of rules and guidelines since they have been known to change from time to time as needed. Oh and one last major rule, no giving out autographs and no posing for pictures as the character.

Parades, Stage Shows, Fireworks and More

Disney is known to go all out for special occasions. For Halloween they have a special parade with floats dedicated to the Hunted Mansion, the Villains, Halloween Candy (driven by Vanellope Von Scweets) and more. The headless horseman from the Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad ahem…heads…up the proceedings. (Sorry, couldn’t resist). There are stage shows to see, and a special spooky version of the nightly spectacular for you to enjoy. There are extra special extras to take in as well. These include seeing Mickey and the Gang in their halloween costumes as well as extra spooky visitors around the haunted mansion. It seems that the 999 happy haunts aren’t happy to stay home during this time of year!

It really wouldn’t be Halloween without lots and lots of free candy. So of course Disney provides the same for guests. Kids and adults can go ‘trick-or-treating’ at certain places in the parks! And if you have allergies, don’t worry! Disney is even giving out special Teal Pumpkins at guest services just for you! So while you might not get the same treats, you’ll still get to join in on the fun!

So that’s the run down on Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! And if you need a place to stay while the party is going on, give the folks here at Homes4uu a call! They’ll find you the perfect home away from home for you to count your candy stash in.
